Generator Maintenance

NGI provides generator maintenance services to maintain equipment condition, support reliable operation, and prevent premature component failure. Work is executed on critical generator components including bearings, slip rings, carbon brushes, cooling systems, and internal connections. Maintenance scopes include inspection, cleaning, adjustment, and component servicing as required to ensure proper function and performance. Tasks are performed with a focus on identifying wear, verifying component condition, and maintaining system integrity.

NGI approaches each maintenance scope with a structured process that ensures all components are evaluated and serviced in accordance with operational requirements. Attention is given to both mechanical and electrical aspects of the generator to ensure consistent performance and reduce the risk of unexpected failures. All work is completed in accordance with site requirements and OEM specifications, with clear documentation to support maintenance records and ongoing turbine performance.

Bearing Inspection & Servicing

Inspection of generator bearings for wear, overheating, noise, and lubrication condition. Includes verification of grease condition, re-greasing where required, and identification of early-stage bearing failure.

Slip Ring & Carbon Brush Maintenance

Inspection and servicing of slip rings and carbon brushes, including cleaning of slip ring surfaces, measurement of brush wear, verification of brush seating, and inspection of spring tension and contact condition.

Cooling System Maintenance

Inspection and cleaning of generator cooling systems, including air filters, ducts, fans, and heat exchangers. Ensures proper airflow and heat dissipation to prevent overheating.

Internal Cleaning & Contamination Removal

Cleaning of internal generator components to remove dust, carbon buildup, oil residue, and debris that may affect performance or insulation integrity.

Electrical Connection Inspection

Verification of internal wiring, terminations, and connections for tightness, heat damage, and signs of arcing or insulation breakdown.

Shaft & Coupling Inspection

Inspection of generator shaft and coupling components for wear, proper fitment, and signs of misalignment or abnormal loading.

Insulation & Component Condition Checks

Assessment of insulation condition on coils and internal components to identify degradation, contamination, or potential electrical failure points.

Lubrication System Checks

Verification of lubrication systems, including grease lines and delivery points, to ensure proper distribution and function.

Operational Checks

Observation of generator performance during operation, including noise, vibration, and temperature behavior to identify abnormal conditions.
